Inhaler Brings Their New York City Inspired Album, Open Wide To Life In Brooklyn New York

On March 6th, Inhaler, an alternative rock band from Dublin, Ireland hit the stage in Brooklyn, New York at The Brooklyn Paramount. The band’s new album, Open Wide, released in February, was inspired by the city of New York and having the opportunity to see it be brought to life in the city was an experience like no other.

Lines of passionate fans surrounded the venue hours before the show started. No one seemed to be discouraged by the weather. The band’s fanbase has great dedication and the community of fans they’ve built in New York City seems to be one of the most powerful.

As the pit filled up, Been Stellar, a band who is local to New York City, hit the stage. The band’s sound reflects the energy of the city and they have previously opened up for the iconic NYC band, Interpol. Been Stellar released their debut album last year, Scream from New York, NY, and began their set with the song “Scream from New York, NY,” from their new album. It was so exciting to be able to hear their songs “I Have The Answer,” and “Kids 1995,” which brought a cool energy to the show, different from Inhaler’s sound. They brought so much liveliness to the crowd before Inhaler took the stage.

Before Inhaler got on stage, it went completely dark and a mysterious backing track played while the crowd was not-so-patiently waiting. When the band finally took the stage, they began their set with “My Honest Face,” the most streamed song from their debut album, which helped fill the crowd with excitement for the rest of the show. After “My Honest Face,” they then transitioned into “Eddie In The Darkness,” the first song on their new album, Open Wide. The song is one of the most energetic and loudest from the new album, so it was a phenomenal way to start the show.

Throughout the band’s set, they showcased a significant amount of the new album, along with some classics from their debut album. They also decided to include a few songs from their sophomore album that fans always show their love for. The band brought the most energetic and exciting mood to the venue and city. The crowd knew all of their music by heart. I could see people getting on each other's shoulders and mosh pits starting all throughout the venue. The feeling the band brings to everyone in the room is incomparable. Seeing their new music be brought to life in such a vibrant city was an unmatched experience.
