Aidan Bissett Ricochet’s Back Into The Game

Aidan Bissett’s highly anticipated single “Ricochet" was officially released  on April 4th, 2025  following weeks of teasing fans via tik tok with snippets of the song. This track arrives after his first release of the year titled “are we in love yet?” Aidan is stepping back into the industry spotlight after a short hiatus after opening for COIN back in fall of 2024.

Ricochet follows themes of the unpredictability of a relationship. The song expresses confusion and the back and forth of a relationship much like a ricochet of a bullet or an object. At the start of the song Bissett says “you love to be my weakness and you get yeah you get what you want.” a lyric that sets the tone for the rest of the single which represents the emotional tug of war at the heart. This may just be Bissett’s most vulnerable release up to date and fans are engaging with it so well. This release has lyrics that leave fans wondering more about their past and current relationships.

The single has already sparked great excitement in the Bissett fanbase, with listeners coming up with fans sharing their theories about a new tour and upcoming album. In his prior single he released a music video telling fans to see if they can spot the easter eggs and that left them with a challenge. The fan base continued to look into the music video for “are we in love yet” to try and find easter eggs for future releases that Bissett will release.

This single shows a bit of a change in Aidan’s sound with the foundation of his past releases. Ricochet is delivered with a sense of emotional maturity with the complexity of the new lyrics, Aidan has always been in a indie-pop style but this new release shifts into a moody-alt feel and it suits him well as this new shift could possibly signal the new sound for his forthcoming album. As a long time fan of Aidan Bissett I am super stoked to see what this new chapter of his career has in store for him but more importantly how this new sound has showcased his growth as a person and an artist. Aidan has showcased his talent in this new single and it has me looking forward to what's to come in this new era of music.
