Leeds death metal band Godeth unleash crushing new single ‘Fleshmonger’
Kicking off 2025 in the heaviest possible way, Leeds 5-piece metallers Godeth are setting the bar high in the new year with possibly their heaviest and in-your-face work to date with new single Fleshmonger. It’s a song the sets the tone for what’s in store for this year and starts things in a way that shows why a lot of attention is on them.
The single is fast-paced aggressive mayhem with a nice blend of heavy groove riffs thrown in the mix that are gripping to listen to from the get-go. The power in the vocals amplifies an intense emotion filtered through the entirety of the song from singer Miles Case-Watson, his instant screams at the beginning of the song set the standard of what’s to come. The ability to switch up from higher screams to lower-toned growls shows the immense talent Miles has.
These guys have such a raw sound that keeps things appealing from the beginning of the song – adding in that groove metal sound to the track gives it that polished finish.
The single comes with a stunning music video that captures the Godeth live experience. Godeth give some insight into their new single Fleshmonger:
"We wrote Fleshmonger in just a few days - it came together quickly and naturally and that’s exactly the kind of raw energy we wanted to capture. It’s aggressively heavy, with a groove that we feel hits harder than anything we’ve done before. We truly believe it’s our strongest track yet. To match its power, we filmed the music video at the legendary Boom in Leeds—one of the city’s most iconic venues, closing its doors in 2025. It felt like the perfect place to bring this song to life - raw, intense, and full of attitude.
Fleshmonger's lyrics express the disillusionment of forward-thinking individuals with the persistent warmongering of nations. War benefits the elite, who manipulate the masses to serve their interests. The average person shares more in common with the victims of war than with the corrupt leaders driving it. This dynamic is true across all "developed" nations. We’re stoked for everyone to hear it!"
