Molly Grace Proves Her “Woman’s Intuition” in Philadelphia

February 21st, 2025 - Philadelphia

As an east coast native, Molly Grace’s stop in Philadelphia was all she could have dreamed of. On February 21, Molly Grace took the stage at The Foundry, the 450 person club venue inside of The Fillmore clad in her bright pink mini dress and white heels- the wardrobe for a fun night.

Grace’s “But I’m A Popstar!” tour opened with Claire Ernst, a New Jersey native who is now based out of Nashville. She was stationed at a standing keyboard as she displayed her pop and r&b sound. She played some released music as well as some that is coming soon, holding the crowd’s focus and making fans out of them. Ernst’s jazz influence and conversational lyrics captured the crowd’s audience, leaving them excited for the show ahead.

As eager fans waited for Grace’s onstage arrival, they listened to a pre-recorded mock-radio call between Grace and herself. Grace tells herself, “you need to be onstage like right now!” and a car motor sound plays, followed by an exaggerated sound of footsteps. Her band stationed themselves at their instruments, waiting in the dark for her to emerge. Grace pushed open the backstage doors and strutted onto the stage, wearing a smile.

The music picked up, and Grace began to sing. The first number she performed was an unreleased song, one that pumped the crowd up. Grace was ecstatic to be in Philadelphia, shouting “Go Birds!” which is the motto of the Philadelphia Eagles.

Grace’s music is fun, glittery pop-funk that gets the audience into the groove and dancing with strangers. The setlist consisted of a mix of old songs and new unreleased ones that fans eagerly listened to as she performed. She played songs from Lovesick, an EP that was released with five songs on it. Grace played “Lovin’ On You” which earned cheers as she began to sing. Another from the EP was “Mind Ain’t Always on My Side,” which slowed down to showcase the inner thoughts the blonde dealt with.

What If I? (The Grocery Store Song)” was another hit with the crowd, the bridge created a call-and-response, Grace holding the microphone out to catch the chorus from the audience. Grace’s stage presence made everyone in the room immediately light up, moving from one side of the stage to the other to interact with her fans.

The show began to slow, nearing an end. The final song “Lover (Love Her)” was one that got the crowd moving, with a strong bassline that could be felt through the floor and a catchy chorus that the crowd knew already. Grace played an outro with her band, ending on a drum hit that brought the lights down with it.

Of course, the show hadn’t truly ended without an encore. The band reprised their spots onstage, Molly Grace coming back out to start her most notable song, “F.E.M.M.E.” which erupted the room into cheers. Grace showed the room that she truly was ‘fabulous’, ‘enticing’, ‘magnetic’, ‘magical’, and ‘everything!’ with an incredible show at the Foundry.
